Anne Bennent (born October 13, 1963 in Lausanne) is a Swiss actress, chanson singer, and reciter. She had her early breakthrough in 1976 in the film Die Wildente (directed by Hans W. Geißendörfer), for which she was awarded the Berlin Förderpreis der Akademie der Künste (Berlin Academy of Arts Award). She received the O. E. Hasse Prize for Best Young Actress in 1986 and the Kainz Medal in 1996 for her title role in Yvonne, Princess of Burgundy.
Her best-known films include Lulu (1980, directed by Walerian Borowczyk), 71 Fragments of a Chronology of Chance (1994, directed by Michael Haneke), and Silentium (2004, directed by Wolfgang Murnberger). In SÉRAPHINE (2008, directed by Martin Provost), she plays the sister Anne-Marie Uhde in the acclaimed biopic about the painter Séraphine Louis.
She has appeared in numerous television series such as Der Kommissar, Der Alte, Derrick, Tatort, and most recently in Der Zürich-Krimi – Borchert und die Stadt in Angst.
With her artistic spectrum ranging from film to theater and singing to recitations, Anne Bennent has been a prominent figure in German-speaking and international cultural life for decades.
