Director

Jean-Pierre Dardenne is a Belgian filmmaker who directs, writes, and produces films together with his brother, Luc Dardenne. Their cinematic work is associated with social realism, often illuminating the lives of people on the margins of society. The brothers have been honored multiple times for their work at the Cannes Film Festival; they received the Palme d'Or for *Rosetta* (1999) and *L'Enfant* (The Child) (2005). Their other well-known films include *The Kid with a Bike* (2011) and *Tori and Lokita* (2022), for which they won the festival's special 75th Anniversary Prize.
