Adrian cannot build on his successes as a child actor. When he gets the chance to play the French national hero Charles de Gaulle, he finds hope. He is broke, unhappily single and unemployed for years. When he loses his apartment, he has to move back in with his mother, who is a psychoanalyst. For director Antoine de Bary, the Italian comedies of the '60s were a great inspiration: "What’s impressive about them is that the tone of a comedy is overlaid on a dramatic story." "There are plenty of laughs in this refreshingly funny French coming-of-age story from directorial debutant Antoine de Bary. Actor Vincent Lacoste lends a highly amusing aura to the loser character."
