Together with a retired veterinarian who provides the tranquilizers and a former police officer who is supposed to cover up the evidence, they search for the best way to fulfill Max's wish. However, since no one can actually bring themselves to kill Max, Yehezkel builds a machine that the dying man uses to kill himself. Soon this machine is the talk of the town, and people from all over Jerusalem flock to the nursing home to relieve their loved ones of their suffering.
