Finnish actor Outi Mäenpää, born in Helsinki in 1962, completed her training at the local Theatre Academy. Her acting work has won several awards, including four Jussi Awards, Finland's most important film prize. For her leading role in the drama "Black Ice" (2007), she received a Jussi as well as a nomination for the European Film Award. She also gained international recognition for her performance in Pernilla August's directorial debut "Beyond" (2010), which earned her the Swedish Guldbagge Award for Best Supporting Actress. Her versatile work includes numerous film and television productions, among them Aki Kaurismäki's "The Man Without a Past" (2002).
