The Belgian filmmaker Bénédicte Liénard often realizes her projects in close collaboration with director Mary Jiménez. Their joint work frequently moves at the intersection of documentary and fiction, addressing social issues. Liénard's feature film debut, "Une part du ciel" (A Piece of Sky, 2002), premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in the Un Certain Regard section. The documentary "By the Name of Tania" (2019) was screened at the Berlinale and nominated for the Belgian Magritte Award. In addition to her filmmaking activities, she teaches directing at the Institut des Arts de Diffusion (IAD).
