Symcha Zweifler, a patriarch at the helm of an empire, wants to sell his delicatessen business but is suddenly confronted with his past in Frankfurt’s red-light district. The situation takes a turn for the worse when his grandson Samuel and his girlfriend Saba announce that they are expecting a baby boy. Thus begins a tragicomic quest for meaning.
