Mascarpone

Antonio is in his early 30s, an architect, and lives in Rome. When his husband Lorenzo unexpectedly leaves him, he is left with nothing: no apartment, no job, no direction. A fresh start seems impossible, but then he meets Denis, a cheerful roommate who offers him not only a home but also a new perspective. With Denis' help, Antonio finds a job in the bakery of the charming Luca and begins training as a pastry chef. While learning to knead dough and conjure up sweet creations, he also discovers the joy of independence. But life remains complicated: between Denis, Luca, and the attractive Tom, who suddenly enters his life, Antonio is confronted with new feelings, jealousy, and the question of what he really wants. The romantic comedy MASCARPONE by Alessandro Guida and Matteo Pilati has been shown at numerous international festivals and won several awards. Among other honors, the film won the Audience Award at the Ortigia Film Festival 2021 and was named Best Italian Film at the Diversity Media Awards 2022. In addition, lead actor Giancarlo Commare received the Best Actor Award at the Fabrique Awards 2021. MASCARPONE has also been presented at festivals such as the OUTshine LGBTQ+ Film Festival, the Palm Springs LGBTQ Film Festival, and the Chicago LGBTQ+ International Film Festival, where it received further recognition.
