Two generations meet in a small Canadian village: Russell, an aspiring actor and drag performer, returns home after a failed relationship. His grandmother Margaret lives there, struggling with health problems but determined to live her life independently. Russell moves in with her, and between nightly performances at the local bar and caring for Margaret, a deep bond develops. Together they face life's challenges and find new courage and inspiration in their unusual companionship. The film JUMP, DARLING marks the directorial debut of Phil Connell and sensitively combines themes of self-discovery, family and acceptance. At Cinema Diverse – The Palm Springs LGBTQ Film Festival, it received the Directors' Prize and the Festival Favorite Award. The Desperado LGBT Film & Arts Festival in Phoenix honored the film with the Audience Award for Best Feature Film.
