mt-title

Europa, a young schoolgirl, is approached by an attractive but mysterious young man named Jupiter in front of her high school. Fascinated by his sensual and wondrous tales of gods falling in love with humans, she lets him seduce her and embarks on a journey through a world where the boundaries between myth and reality become blurred. In MÉTAMORPHOSES, Christophe Honoré adapts the classic stories from Ovid's “Metamorphoses” and transports them into the modern world. The film weaves together various episodes in which gods and mortals encounter one another, exploring themes such as seduction, transformation and the power of storytelling. The film premiered in the “Venice Days” section at the 71st Venice International Film Festival and was praised for its innovative approach to classical myths. By combining professional actors with non-professionals, Honoré manages to create a contemporary interpretation of ancient stories that is both visually stunning and thematically profound.
