Moonlighting

In December 1981, master electrician Nowak and three workmen who know no English arrive in London from Warsaw. Their task is to gut and renovate a house, for which they have brought what tools they can carry, while Nowak has cash to buy materials. During their moonlighting, Poland is undergoing demonstrations, strikes and the declaration of martial law, the banning of Solidarity and mass arrests. With no money left, the company have a six-hour walk to the airport and a flight home to an uncertain future. Grand Prix du scénario au Festival de Cannes 1982.
