Porn to Be Free

A documentary about the generation who fought against puritanism and censorship to defend freedom of speech and sexual freedom. From Italy to Denmark, France and California, the film follows a group of rebels fghting censorship through pornography. Together, they shook the Church, politics and institutions. Using exclusive non-censored scenes and archive material, the film explores the successive combats of pioneers: vanguard porn director Lasse Braun, the master of transgression Riccardo Schicchi and porn star Cicciolina who was elected into the Italian Parliament. There are other protagonists such as feminist porn director Giuliana Gamba, writer Lidia Ravera and a short animation by Charlie Hebdo veteran Siné. By their vision and their shocking dreams, they have opened the world to avant-garde debates, such as neo-feminism or the LGBT rights movement.
