From Caligari to Hitler: German Cinema in the Age of the Masses

This documentary recounts the era of cinema between Expressionism and New Objectivity and complements this with glimpses of the political and social events of the exciting twenties: they were the most important period of German cinema to this day, one of the greatest and most wonderful eras of cinema ever, in which the aesthetic foundations of the "seventh art" were invented. In addition to the well-known, the film contains much that is unknown, never shown, completely forgotten, and offers an entertaining roller coaster ride into the best period of German cinema and into the abysses of the subconscious of the Weimar Republic.
