Born in Hamburg in 1991, actor Leonie Benesch received early recognition for her role in Michael Haneke's film 'The White Ribbon' (2009). After studying at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, she appeared in internationally acclaimed series such as 'Babylon Berlin' and 'The Crown'. She achieved her greatest success to date with the lead role in the Oscar-nominated drama 'The Teachers' Lounge' (2023). For her performance in this film, she received the German Film Award for Best Actress and a nomination for the European Film Award.
