August Joshi is a German filmmaker who studied directing at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. Joshi gained attention with the graduation film 'What We Are Scared Of' (Was wir fürchten, 2024). The horror drama was screened in competition at the 2024 Max Ophüls Preis Film Festival and earned Joshi a nomination for the FIRST STEPS Award. Previous works include the short film 'At the End of the Hallway' (Am Ende des Ganges, 2021), which deals with concepts of masculinity. Joshi's cinematic work often explores psychological tension and familial conflicts.
