The French director and screenwriter Thomas Cailley, born in 1980, is a graduate of the La Fémis film school. His feature film debut, “Love at First Fight” (Les Combattants, 2014), gained international recognition, winning awards in the Directors' Fortnight section at the Cannes Film Festival and receiving the César Award for Best First Feature Film. With his second feature film, “The Animal Kingdom” (Le Règne animal, 2023), he opened the Un Certain Regard section at Cannes and received numerous nominations at the 2024 César Awards. His work also includes the science fiction series “Ad Vitam” (2018). Cailley's projects often combine elements of genre film with sensitive character development.
