The American filmmaker Christopher McQuarrie, born in 1968, works as a screenwriter, director, and producer. He achieved his breakthrough with the script for the thriller "The Usual Suspects" (1995), for which he was awarded an Oscar and a BAFTA Award. He has a long-standing collaboration with Tom Cruise, for whom he directed the "Mission: Impossible" films "Rogue Nation" (2015) and "Fallout" (2018), among others. As a co-writer and producer, he was also a key contributor to the success of "Top Gun: Maverick" (2022), which earned him another Oscar nomination.
