Arisa Nakano

Japanese filmmaker Arisa Nakano, born in Kanagawa in 1993, studied film at the School of Visual Arts in New York. Her thesis short film, "HOMESICK" (2019), tells the story of a young Japanese woman feeling alienated while living in the United States. The work brought her international attention and was screened at various festivals, including the Nippon Connection Film Festival. The film received special recognition as a finalist at the 46th Student Academy Awards in 2019.
